SleepSpot vs Nanit

Nanit uses a wall-mounted camera with computer vision to automatically detect when your baby sleeps and wakes. SleepSpot uses manual logging (one tap to start/stop). Nanit is more hands-off; SleepSpot is zero-hardware and works anywhere — in the car, at grandma's house, on vacation.

SleepSpot's SweetSpot feature estimates possible nap windows from logged history and tracks awake time. Nanit focuses on camera-based sleep history and analytics; its current official feature list does not advertise proactive next-nap timing estimates. Choose based on whether you want manual planning estimates or automatic room-based monitoring.

Nanit requires compatible monitor hardware. In July 2026, Nanit listed a Smart Baby Monitor + Flex Stand at $249 and its Smart Baby Monitor System at $289.99; bundle prices vary. Optional Insights Memories and Milestones plans were listed at $120 and $300 per year. Core live video, notifications, two-way audio, temperature/humidity, white noise, and nature sounds remain available without an Insights plan. SleepSpot does not require camera hardware.

Nanit offers live HD video, two-way audio, room temperature/humidity sensors, and optional breathing wear. These are monitoring capabilities that a sleep-logging phone app cannot replicate. Consumer baby monitors do not replace caregiver supervision or medical devices.

SleepSpot works anywhere your iPhone goes — travel, daycare pickups, grandparents' house. Nanit's tracking only works in the room with the camera. Many parents use both: Nanit at home for monitoring, SleepSpot on the go for predictions.
